www.bondage-arts.com specialises in high quality original bondage pictures that are both erotic and artistic.

The high quality of the bondage pictures is the result of the combined talents of photographer Walt Meister and Rope Master Jack. Both of these guys are genuine bondage enthusiasts, and this shows clearly in the high technical and erotic quality of their pictures.

I was interested to discover that Bondage Arts is almost the same age as Ebony Bondage. Both websites first opened for business in January 2002, although Bondage Arts did exist prior to this as a free site.

Bondage Arts already contains over 8,000 original bondage images (as of December 2002) and it is nice to see that the number of images available to members is clearly stated in the public area. I think it is reassuring to see this kind of consideration being given to prospective members.

In fact consideration for members is apparent throughout the site. For example, the file size of all images is stated so you know how big a file is before you decide to download it. I know how much extra work this entails, and it proves how considerate the website creators are of their members.

All the bondage pictures are provided in two sizes. One size is intended for viewing on the computer, and these images are a good healthy size, being 700 pixels high. The other size is seriously large, and these images are intended to provide high quality prints if desired. However another advantage of looking at these really large images is that the models seem so detailed and life-like you could almost be looking at them. I personally love looking at the beauty of these womens' faces, really close up like this.

(for comparison, the "medium" pictures at Ebony Bondage are 600 pixels high, while the "high" size pictures are 850 pixels high)

The majority of the bondage is rope bondage, and there is a broad diversity of positions and bondage style. Rope bondage includes western and Japanese Shibari styles, and some of the ties are seriously stringent.

This is not a BDSM website as such, although nipple clamps are apparent in some pictures, and the more stringent bondage positions must become very uncomfortable quite quickly.

website design

As I write this review, I happen to know that the days of the current website design are numbered. A while back the Bondage Arts team was joined by the very talented Remi, of Remi Concept (who was previously with Dizdat.com).

Since Remi's arrival the visual style of the Bondage Arts website has been considerably enhanced, as a result of Remi's artwork.

I have also seen the new version of the website in draft form, and although there is nothing really wrong with the website in its present incarnation, the new version looks to be a huge improvement. It has a very sleek and sophisticated appearance, and I think navigation and usability are going to be significantly improved.

Bondage models include many famous names, including Stacey Burke, Whitney Prescott, Bridgett Harrington, and two rising stars for whom I have a soft spot (or do I mean hard spot?), Cordelia Sabine and Skythe Dark. I happen to know that the last two are in the process of setting up their own paysite, and that must be something to look forward to. They also welcome visitors to their Yahoo! community.
