www.bluebondage.com contains photographs of women in bondage taken by Romix, who is based in Austria. There are German and English language versions.

site philosophy

The content of Blue Bondage reflects the site philosophy, which is summed up in Romix's own words (I understand the English may be improved soon) thus:

In our eyes bondage is one of the fascinatest sites of erotic. It's a "game" between power and giving up and it should never go further then a game.

At the following sites we do not show you any scenes of violance or cruel but a mixture of erotic and phantasy.

Who says: "If love doesn't hurt .... your not doing it right!" is totally wrong.

Thus this is a bondage website, rather than a BDSM website, although some pictures do display fairly mild SM type activity (see below).

public area

Sample bondage pictures for each model can be viewed in the public area by clicking on the links labelled Models, Gallery and Preview. There is also a small amount of information about each model. As I write this review (June 2002) the site contains pictures of ten bondage models.

The public area also contains a record of added material, so a visitor can get an idea of how often the site is updated. I think this is a Good Thing - I believe visitors have a right to know as much as possible about the content of a members area before they part with their money ;-)

members area

The members area also contains a record of added material, and links to each model. If you click on one of these links, this will bring up a few pictures of that model, each of which is a link that opens thumbnail galleries of related pictures.

bondage pictures

The bondage photographs have a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. The standard of photography is high, and the pictures are crisp and clear (members of ebony-bondage.org can view some full size and very representative samples in our members area).

The stringency of most of the bondage is what I would personally describe as mild to medium, which is consistent with the Blue Bondage website philosophy. However there are a number of pictures that display mild BDSM practices, such as nipple clamps, scarf and tape gags, crotch ropes, and something that looks like some kind of ball gag (but I can't see enough of it to be sure, because it is obscured by teeth and lips!). There are also a number of pictures that have the models in quite inventive and extreme positions.

Much of the bondage makes use of blue ropes - hence the name Blue Bondage, but I also noticed white rope and tights being used in some pictures. I must say much of the ropework is extremely neat and of an almost artistic quality (if I dare talk "art"!)

Some nice outdoor locations feature in these bondage pictures, and Romix is lucky to have access to these. If you are keen on outdoor bondage, this is a site you should check out!

Fetish images include pictures of two models in bondage together, and pictures that show mild lesbian interaction.

I particularly like a series of pictures of Helena by the shower, tied standing with her back to us, with her bum visible. I find these particularly erotic, although I would be unable to explain why.

website design

The website is designed by www.ardo.de, which is also an adult website hosting company.

IMHO the site design is simple and elegant, and I found usability to be generally good... once I got the hang of things!

Site navigation makes extensive use of a frameset and pop-up windows. I do not mean the annoying pop-up windows that contain spam; these pop-ups are a valid part of the website architecture. For example, clicking on an image thumbnail results in the full size image opening in it's own pop-up window. Also, when you enter the members area, some magical javascript goes into action and the members area opens in a new window. Basically, if you visit this site and encounter any problems, make sure your browser has pop-up windows enabled!

I have browsed this website using Opera 6, Netscape 4.7 and 6.2, and Internet Explorer 6 without encountering any problems.

With regard to visual appearance we all have our subjective preferences. Personally, I like the visual simplicity and elegance of the Blue Bondage website design. There is a catching and relevant use of a Germanic style font (the name of the font is Music Hall) in the navigation buttons, and some very nice mouse-over effects. Well done, someone!
